But Roberto Osti book will give you a technic that allows you to draw the figure without a model under your eyes. It will give you this ability to draw a realistic and well proportionate figure from your imagination. For the beginner, it is a complete book that gives you clear and easy to access information step by step. Roberto Osti studied illustration for anatomy book at State Institute of Art in Bologna in Italy. He is the author of publications with Natural History Magazine, Scientific American Magazine, Scientific American Mind, Scientific American Explorations, Scientific American Books, Prentice Hall, Scholastic Books, MacGraw Hill, New York Times-Science Times, Wexcards—Progressive Publishing, Oxford University Press, National Academy of Sciences, Houghton-Mifflin, Templeton Foundation, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This is a nice, hardcover book. An excellent reference for any artist. It really helps to understand the deep workings of the subject I’m trying t capture on paper. As a plus, it looks impressive and I can patent I’m smart by having it lying around the living room.Note: This is an anatomy book. It does contain nudity.

I highly recommend Roberto Osti’s Basic Human Anatomy for both students and artists. As a student at the New York Academy of Art, I am currently taking a class with Osti, and in the past, I have used anatomy texts by authors such as Eliot Goldfinger, Dr. Paul Richer and Gottfried Bammes. Osti’s book brings a unique perspective to this field. In a single volume, he combines proportional, structural and organic approaches to create detailed, accurate anatomical drawings. At the same time, he focuses on drawing movements of the body with grace and light with many beautiful illustrations. His book makes anatomy – a complex subject – easy to understand and shows how to integrate it into your drawing practice.

This will surely become a classic for both students and teachers. The illustrations are excellent -- but what really sets this book apart is Osti's pedagogy. He has managed to make a very complex subject understandable even for beginners, yet without losing the complexity. This has helped me so much in approaching figure drawing. I have purchased other books on this subject, but Osti's really opens up the subject in a comprehensive -- and comprehensible -- way. If you really want to better understand anatomy as an artist, this is the book you need.

I have been studying art references for almost thirty years. I can honestly say that I have never had a book impact my work so profoundly as this book has. My learning has exploded, not just from an artistic standpoint, but from an anatomical standpoint as well--this with already having a doctorate in medicine. If anyone were to select only a single book for their artistic career, I would strongly suggest they consider this book for their instruction. Thank you, Osti, for a great contribution to artists everywhere.

It's pretty good. Very intricate and detailed. I get bored easily, and I can attest to it being very interesting. I love that it has beautiful pictures and colored images that describe what I'm looking at visually. I'm a visual person. Buy just for the aesthetic.

I never knew how good it would be to see a male manga character in a kilt but it really was. This story was a modern Scottish Earl trapped in a seemingly no-win situation with regards to his inheritance and his estate. There is a bizarre obligation attached to his inheritance and that is to marry his cousin’s widow.Alasdair is all harsh sweeping judgements and arrogance at understanding Jeanie’s motives and situations. In fact, Jeanie is a down-to-earth lass with a humble background and delusions of nothing. Watching these two navigate their lives together was pretty cute with a little predictability. Their rare outings together to see island life were the best because I got to see manga corgis, puffins and more!This is one of my favourite harlequin mangas so far with excellent illustration and flow of the story block by block.

An enjoyable romantic manga! Alasdair and Jeanie are brought together because of his grandmother's last will. They decide to comply with her last wishes and get married. Their relationship starts as a marriage of convenience, but as they get to know each other their feelings begin to change. I thought it was very sweet how he took her on trips. Trips that she never had time to take due to working so much.Overall it was a very good story and was easy to read. The graphics were very well done.

I liked this one, the twist from the beginning with inheritance will of a descended woman. It had set everything into the action. Characters were good and likable. I liked the dynamics there an how everything played while reading it. Alasdair and Jeane are good matches and for sure something that I'm looking for as a manga reader, as each character had different reasons for feeling or behaving like that ad that added to the believability of the story.

So far a good fit for my spiritual journey. Many great lessons so far and I'm only on the second chapter. Bought it as referred from another Edgar Cayce inspired (audio)book. Took the hard copy of this one because it's likely needed to be read slowly and methodically. And so far it feels true for me.

I was raised a Catholic. Cayce has given me the best road map to communion with God. In a simple, easy to understand step by step manner. I'm very happy that I found him.

The second most amazing book I've ever read. This book shows you how to literally meet God. Absolutely blew my mind!!!!! I'll never be the same.

When The "Search For God" study groups started, the books were printed in two parts. This was mainly due to the fact that the Group did not complete the second part of the lessons until 20 years later. The A.R.E., always made the customer buy the volumes separately, probably because the costs would've exceeded the A.R.E.'s coffers to combine both volumes into one. Happily that has been remedied with this new 50th Anniversary Edition. Not only is the type larger and easier to read, photos and letters have been included in order to show pictures of the Sleeping Prophet with his disciples, and learn what the original group was after when the Group was originally founded. Of course, the "lessons" that are given have to be lived, before going onto the next lesson. That is a lesson that the Lutherans and the Catholics and the Baptists could take a lesson from. It has helped me a lot in my spiritual journey and I highly recommend it.

other Cayce books are just transcripts of his readings...which can be VERY cumbersome given his use of syntax and grammar.this is a good read. not a "sit down and read the whole thing" type of read ... but nonetheless ... very good.

Meyer's teaching is deeply rooted in the Word and it is no surprise that she would write Bible commentaries. This book is a good general devotional commentary on Ephesians. It is good for general audiences as it does not go into Greek although there is background material included. Meyer at times comments on one verse while at other times covers up to eleven verses in her writing. She spends some time on topics like the fruit of the Spirit and the armor of God. There is usually a personal reflection question at the end of each section with space for journaling although some sections do not have it.Meyer's commentary is very encouraging. She emphasizes who we are in Christ, encouraging readers to live into that reality. She reminds us of our right standing with God and the intimate relationship we can have with Him. Reviewing Paul's prayers, she encourages us to pray for deeper spiritual things, not what makes us comfortable or fulfills our carnal desires. She also reminds us to pursue spiritual growth and holy living, not to somehow gain God's approval but because of all He has done for us.This commentary would be good for new Christians or ones not very familiar with the Bible. Meyer writes about the truth contained in a very understandable way. She does not explore some of the more difficult issues in Ephesians, such as what “He led captivity captive” might mean. Readers will gain encouragement and inspiration from the Word in reading this book.I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. Joyce Meyer's new Bible commentary on Ephesians is as gorgeous as her new commentary on James. These beautiful books are also quite helpful and practical to use.Meyer starts out telling the reader about the writer of Ephesians, which is Paul, and the timeline in which it was written. I like Meyer's reminder that before we even start studying Ephesians we need to remember Paul's circumstances and the reminder that "no matter how difficult your life may be during certain seasons, remember to do all you can do to bless, help, and encourage others." If we would all remember this, I wonder how much better our world would be right now?Meyer goes through the book of Ephesians slowly as a commentary should, but she also writes this book so one can easily understand it. I remember looking at some old commentaries years ago and feeling quite lost. Yet, with the Joyce Meyer Biblical Commentary, I think both new believers and those who have been in the faith for a long time would glean something from the study as she presents it in her books.As a writer, I like the personal reflection space with questions and a journal area to write in the back of each chapter. Although I confess, I think these books are too pretty to write in, so I use a journal alongside my book. However, you choose to use it, it is helpful to have the questions to think about and to help reflect on the book and the commentary. I would recommend these commentaries to anyone interested in studying the Bible more seriously along with all of the regular Joyce Meyer fans.I received this book from the publisher.
