This is a great book for anyone interested in mythology and religion.Quite comprehensive, but not a thick text book at all, I'd recommend also reading the source material- The Mahabharata,The Rig Veda,The Ramayana etc..This is actually filled with photos and brilliantly colourful illustrations.The stories are told in a style that is exciting,poetic and easy to follow,though it does not delve too deeply into subtext or meaning.I was surprised by how difficult it was to find a book concentrated on this subject in this style,being that I would often find books like this at the library when I was a kid.A young person would enjoy the style of this book,but due to it's graphic nature it is best left to slightly more mature readers.Loved this book since the first time borrowed it from the library and am happy to finally own it.
