Review

The Memento Mori journal reminds us to keep death always before us so we can truly live. -Haley Stewart, author of The Grace of Enough The Memento Mori journal helped me keep things in perspective: that yes, we'll all die, which makes what we do on earth more important, not less. Our time on earth is short and we should be continuously striving for sainthood. The Memento Mori journal has been a daily reminder of that! -Claire Swinarski, author of Girl, Arise! As I pick up my pen and begin to journal on the pages that follow that introduction, I find myself enjoying the process and desiring to prepare for a good and holy death more than ever despite my typical fears and failures. I m confident that if you pick up the journal, you ll feel the same way. -Tommy Tighe, author of The Catholic Hipster Handbook I am truly grateful to Theresa Aletheia Noble FSP for her compelling work on the Memento Mori Journal. While I was initially intrigued by the journal's concept and eye-catching design, it's been a great blessing to explore and pray with the journal in a deeper fashion as I contemplate my own path through life and toward my eternal destiny. I'm grateful to Sister for her constant ministerial presence on social media and now in this abiding keepsake. -Lisa Hendey, founder of CatholicMom.com The Memento Mori Journal has been my how-to guide on parenting a dead child. She has helped me to say dead and death and it not punch me in the gut. It has helped me to face a reality that otherwise would have crushed me if not for her reminding me of the HOPE that comes with Jesus dying for us and conquering death.-Leticia Adams, writer at Through Broken Roses --.

In the Fall of 2002, I studied abroad at the historic Kartause in Gaming, Austria- a.k.a. Franciscan University of Steubenville's "Austria Program." I was struck by the historic roots of the Kartause, which refers to the medieval Carthusian monks who lived by the Memento Mori motto or "Remember Your Death." As a young 22 year old who was enjoying traveling around Europe and a moderate consumption of fine beers, the rich spirituality helped me to focus in silent prayer when I took part in Eucharistic Adoration over there...Fast forward 15 years later in 2017 when I discovered Sr. Theresa on the Sirius XM Catholic Channel's Jennifer Fulwiler Show. The interview reconnected me with Memento Mori that I first discovered in Gaming, Austria. I realized I needed this theme of my mortality to continue growing closer to Jesus...Growing closer to Jesus is what will unfold if you give Sr. Theresa's Memento Mori journal a shot. Part of following the Gospel of Jesus is the reality that Jesus wants our earthly lives to lead to eternity with him. For myself, I would often get distracted when I tried to keep a spiritual journal with no guide. This journal provides that needed guide as I embark for the remainder of my earthly pilgrimage towards a greater friendship with the supreme lover and friend, Jesus, who isalways there for us all us.

The first thing I noticed upon its arrival was how beautiful it was. The binding, the soft cover, illustrations - all such high quality. It reminded me of The Magnificat publications. The content is extraordinary - profound and inspirational.

One of the most important tools to get you to heaven...

Been having good conversations with my kids about death, that’s always good in this world where we forget that we are in exile here, we have a final destination which if we don’t prepare for we might miss getting there.

wonderful book. I plan on using during lent . Good reminder for all of us. What sins do you want to die with on your soul?

This journal is beautiful inside and out and well made. I would purchase again.

I have been following Sr. Theresa’s Memento Mori journey on Twitter for some time, and was intrigued and very interested in her writings. To meditate on one’s death seems foreign (and scary) for most people. It certainly did for me. But when she published this journal, I pre-ordered it right away, thinking it would bring new spiritual growth for me. I am now on Day 9, and I look forward each morning to this prayerful time of meditating and journaling, starting with the prompts provided for each day. The journal also contains many helpful hints and prayers that can help to guide you if needed. So thankful for this journal; I think it will change the way I view death, and bring changes in how I live my life.

The Memento Mori Journal includes a fine introduction to the topic of memento mori, along with helpful tips on how to use it most effectively. At the top of every page is a quote that pertains to life, from the perspective of eternity, and that means 'death.' Not at all a morbid product; instead, it affirms life by reminding the user that the only life worth living is one considered from the view provided by Jesus Christ, who defeated death by His resurrection. It is bound in glorious black, white and grey, Personally, I can't wait to enter my most intimate thoughts, prayers and reflections in these pages! A production of The Daughters of St. Paul, the Memento Mori Journal is a much needed companion on my spiritual walk with God, and I know it could be for you, too!
