In my opinion, plant-based diet is the best way to lose weight and maintain your health. I continue to perform this diet for 2 weeks already and I feel much better. This cookbook book has every chance of becoming my favorite. The choice of dishes is chic, I'm not exaggerating, I also liked that there are such beautiful photos every dish.

I particularly liked the recipes that went with this book and the way it gradually introduced you to veganism. That said, there were limited recipe choices or information on substitutions for non vegan recipes.

I haven't tried any recipes yet (just got book 2 days ago). The reason for the 3 stars is. One of the recipes says it's on page 24 when in fact it's on page 26 & none of the pics of the finished food are in color. You'd think you would want to show that. I'll update my review once I make some of the recipes

I have to say that when I heard Jamie Begley was pairing Evie and King, I was not impressed or interested. Honestly, I think a lot of her fans would agree when I say that I didn't see a future, as in a HEA, for the club girls. Although I did enjoy Sex Piston's story, I didn't feel it was in the same context as Beth's, Winter's, and Lily's stories. I will say I like Evie a heck of a lot more than the other club girls. Now with saying all this, King is phenomenal! Like Shade, it is a game changer in so many ways! I see changes coming for this series and I really look forward to them. Don't get me wrong, the core of this series, that the Last Riders are a family, hopefully won't change. However, as with life, as time goes on things will move on and change as well. Now about the story--King will surprise you. You get the chemistry you expect from this series as well as some history about some of the players. I loved this. You really get to know Evie and her reasons for living the way she does. All those glimpses of softness and sadness we got of Evie in other stories are all explained here. You also see what has been happening in the other couple's lives. You get more of Willa, Penni, Lucky and Jackal which I loved. There are some new characters introduced which 'stirs the pot' so to speak! As for King--well let's just say he lays it out for Evie. He is very blunt in his assessment of the Last Riders. Whether you agree or not with King's harsh words, you do have to realize that all of the Last Riders will do like Evie eventually does and make decisions about the way their life is going. Like I said before, game changer in every sense!!! So, if you have been thinking of passing this one up, DON'T. You need to read it to understand the direction this series is taking. You won't be disappointed.

I was intrigued by King while reading Teased and Tainted. He definitely is an anti-hero, but once the mystery was solved of what the tie-in was between King, Vida, and Sawyer I wasn’t sure how I felt about him. He definitely has the anti-hero thing going on, that was for sure. As I read the first part of King’s story, I gotta say he did not impress me at freaking all. In fact, his behavior made me think “Forget alpha-hole, this guy is a freaking alphapr&#k and a pretentious one at that.” Every decision he made from the second he found out about Callie all those years ago was a stupid one. Then to decide to play Daddy and go head to head with Shade and the Last Riders- what an idiot.For someone in his line of business and with his upbringing and history, I couldn’t believe how he kept continually misjudging not only Evie but everyone else as well. He kept underestimating the people he considered his adversaries and overestimating himself. He redeems himself in the end, but he’ll never be a favorite.Evie absolutely saved this book. As we learn her history so much is made clear as to why she’s with the Last Riders and the loyalty they all have for her. She’s tough, smart, and resilient which are all qualities I admire in a heroine.As unimpressed as I was with King at first, he and Evie worked together and they had some serious chemistry. Both fought their feelings and it was a rough row to hoe at times, but I found myself rooting for them.With Digger in jail, the threats came from different sources both in Queen City and from Treepoint. I did find myself surprised that one particular threat wasn’t taken care of immediately after a particular incident. It seemed out of character for the Last Riders, particularly Shade, but King too. That was a huge disappointment for me. I did love all the time spent with the MC and the epilogue was unbelievably sweet. Just finished. Spent sleepless night because I just can't stop myself from going through chapters. Jamie really rocked again.At the start King really needed some slaps on the face. Like wake up call. He though he knew whats better for Lily. And that really not Shade. I would have loved to point to him, that everytime from when Lily was young, his decisions always were so not good for her. And he should let her decide on her own. And so at first King was annoyingly arogant in his perception of Evie, the rest of The Last Rides and in general. But King really starts to grow on you through the book. And that part would be thanks to Evie. She opens that part of him he closed off from losing his sister and even earlier. So no one could touch him through his walls. Evie, being strong and loyal woman with her own demons, she is fighting for years, you just can't help but love her from the start. And later when I learned that for her demons are responsible her own sister, Brooke, it break my heart that so close person, who should be always on your side an supporting you, can so cruelly act. And than Brooke letting her malicious side to play again...I really hope in the next book we will be able to see Shade "playing", teaching her what happens to people who try to hurt his most precious person in the world.What cracked me that King joined The Scared s***less for Sex Piston and her crew club. LOL.Train & Killyama. Train acting scared and then trying to talk with her. Again. And Killyama keeping ignoring him. Again. I so wish to know what happened between them. That pair really need a book together.Another hilarious pair is: Penni&Jackal. You just can't help and not laugh all the time when they end up having conversation. I rereaded those scenes a couple of times. Jackal really need someone like Penni. Who don't afraid to put him in his plase. They would be a great couple. Praying for their book.And fascination in this book didn't ending here. There are more happenings. So grab your copy and find out about them. You don't gonna regret it.

Best written book I've ever read in showing the lack of caring, common decency, & humanity by one race toward another.If you would like a simplistic view, with most of the characters experiencing one type or another of awakening, awareness, or hurt....Most of the behaviors exhibited by the 'heroine ' would never have been tolerated. Then again, who is the true heroine here? There are more than one.I have noticed that more and more authors create collections, when better editing & less repetition would've created a stunningly written book worthy to be called a classic.

This book was captivating to me because it is based on the history of our great country during a time of great crisis. It delves into the perspectives and beliefs of multiple sides of the slavery issue. I have never understood how anyone could think of another human as lower beings. The author allows us a look into the hearts of good people on multiple sides of this issue during the start of the civil war. I found much to relate to the unrest in our country today.

I love historical fiction, though I am not a fan of History. It was my least favorite subject in school. So when I find a writer that can weave historical facts into the drama of fiction, I'm hooked. The writing in this book is fantastic, bringing imagery and life to the characters. The story is compelling and will make you think about things that never entered your mind before. Ginny is truly an inspiring writer. Read this book - you won't regret it!

This is one that I read in spite of the cover am due am so glad I did! It’s a great book and now I’m looking anxiously for book 2! Hooked me right into the build up of the civil war. Great characters. I really do love it when they are wrestling with issues and figuring out what they believe & what’s important to them. The personal growth. Carrie & Rose both encounter this in their lives and I’m loving who they become. Since I can’t find book 2 in the library database, I’m off to spend my hard earned $ on a kindle or audible copy!

Started reading this book on a whim. Offered to me on Amazon at very inexpensive price, $.99. Read it in one day, as I was captured by it. On to the next one with great expectations. Ginny Dye knows how to bring the Old South to life. Her character development and presentation of how life was during those days prior to the Civil War transport you to that time. For anyone who enjoys reading a great novel based on this time in America's history, this book is for you. Her idea to do this series covering one year in each book gives the reader a chance to absorb all the details in each book, and one can almost put yourself in the shoes of her characters. I have read Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind" 4 times from cover to cover, and in my opinion, this book and the following 3 books in this series rank right up there with that masterpiece of historical fiction. I'm currently reading the 4th book in the series, "Dark Chaos", and hope Ginny will continue this story in many books to come.

You can have it all; intrigue, strong women, scheming and conniving, heroes, romance and history. This author has managed to merge all these plots into an exciting introduction for a promising series. I was hooked in the first chapter. There are characters whose lives are woven in a manner meant to pique your interest in how they fare in relation to the historic backdrop being delivered. This book is the format for my capstone design class. We had three assignments based on some design documents the text suggested. These were alright, but not overly helpful in guiding nor progressing our design. The other chapters, like the one on group management, were more helpful. Design is a difficult process to generalize or outline. The author does a good job with that part of it. I didn't care as much for the 'emotional' side of things, not because the information was false or unhelpful, but because the ideas are difficult to convey to engineers. Overall, this text guides the design process well.

This book is very handy for my Engineering Innovation class! This book provides very useful information for not only engineering design, but also for other things too. For example, one chapter provides very helpful information about presenting designs in both oral and written forms, which is really nice. The book is very detailed and has an easy-to-understand format which makes taking notes and applying them to class discussion, projects, etc. so much easier! I think this book would be helpful for anyone in Engineering, and not just the people taking the class. It was so nice to get it for the price I did too. At my school's book store it would have cost a fortune! It is in almost brand new condition and doesn't have any marks. (yeaa for books in good condition!)

Very dry, very long, very drawn out. Cluttered explanations followed be exhaustive case studies. Even my professors agree that this book is only good for skimming and getting ideas from, not as a detailed reference.

Book for my child for school. Nothing to "love" or "dislike" about it as it's just a school book. Purchase went smoothly.

The Mafia sure didn't corner the market on crime and violence. I never read about the Irish Mob in New York. The beginnings are like the beginnings for the Sicilians/Italians. Squashed in tenements and facing prejudice in employment, they had few options. For the Irish, it was the priesthood, the police or join a gang. Seems like the Irish and Italian Mobs had it all under a sort of control with their understandings with the NYC police, politicians and neighborhood people...until the 60's when drugs came in, the younger guys came up and the old guys started dying out (or were murdered). The Irish, in particular Coonan, became extremely, absurdly, irrationally murderous. At the same time, Coonan meets up with Castellano and they come to an agreement. But Coonan made a mistake when he didn't look after the family of his main man when he was in prison. That, IMO, was the beginning of the end.This is written well and fascinating, although I must admit--I skimmed when the author described the killings and cutting up. Can't take that aspect anymore.Highly recommended.

Normally, when one thinks of gangster culture, people like Capone and Gotti and the Gambino family come to mind; or in other words, Italians and the Mafioso. This is mainly due to Hollywood, which is why when i came across The Westies, I had to read it, because i was aware of the Irish mob but didn't really know any of their stories.I'm glad i did because the thing that makes The Westies such a good read isn't the disturbing violence of the Hell's Kitchen Irish mob and how they'd make bodies disappear, but the surprising humanity of one player in particular: Mickey Featherstone. This is really his story and how he went from Coonan's right hand man, to stool pigeon, to a new man redeemed of his past. I recommend this book to any fan of true crime, mobster tales, and stories of redemption.

This is a great book written about the notorious Irish NY gang, the Westies. It's reads very easily and moves quickly, despite it's 500 page plus content. I highly recommend this book to any true crime historians. A fascinating account of one of the most brutal organized crime gangs in the history of the United States. The American Italian Mafia had codes and rules, the Westies had none, which eventually lead to their downfall.

The Westies controlled the West Side of Manhattan, known as Hell's Kitchen (currently Clinton). TJ English takes us through a history of the Westies, primarily as a personal history of several of the main characters. Of these characters, Mickey Featherstone was perhaps the most interesting.There is no doubt Featherstone was a nasty sort-you certainly didn't want to be on his bad side. But he also had some interesting touches that made him a very complex and multi-dimensional character. If I had to characterize him, he was sort of a anti-Shakespearean hero...a man who is basically evil, but with a tragic "good" flaw.I won't spoil the excitement of the book by revealing too many details, but English does a very credible job of relating the trials and tribulations of Featherstone, fellow gangster Jimmy Coonan, and a host of other mostly despicable characters.The Westies were a loose organization-even their name came from the newspapers-but were a constant target of organized crime investigators. The book ends with the virtual elimination of the Westies as a gang, although Realtors and Developers may have been as much responsible as cops and prosecutors.There is a fair amount of blood and gore in the book, but while somewhat graphic, is not overly sensationalized or highlighted. The book is easy and almost "fun" to read. I found myself actually "rooting" for Featherstone, as his character does create sympathy and empathy, despite his obvious character flaws.So if you are a fan of crime history, especially relating to NYC or organized crime, you will enjoy this volume.

I generally tend to judge nonfiction works by whether or not they read like a great fictional story (i.e. whether they keep me entertained and looking forward to reading more). This book fit the bill. It is an account of the rise and fall of a Hell's Kitchen gang of organized criminals during the 60s and 70s, starting with a brief history of Irish organized crime in New York (and by extension, a brief overview of the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood).The book follows one criminal in particular, Mickey Featherstone, but it provides insight into the gang from various vantage points: the criminals themselves, the police investigating them, and the attorneys representing them.I do highly recommend this book. I gave it four stars only because it became very cumbersome to follow the different criminals and their relationship to Featherstone or Coonan (the so-called head of the Westies). I would have appreciated a few reminders sprinkled throughout the book so that the minor characters didn't all get mixed up in my mind.

What a massive amount of material to catalogue, correlate, classify, and weave into a cohesive, understandable and engaging narrative. English did a great job. This is not an easy book to read, and it’s not like watching a movie where one can sit with eyes closed until the messy, bloody parts are over...it is hair raising, stomach turning, toe curling, creep cringing stuff.

Highly recommend this book, my husband is in the military and we struggled for years on where to settle. Finally made a choice and then discovered the pressure of having a mortgage. As an avid listener to Clayton's podcast and a successful investor (thankful to be sticking by obvious people that share light and positivity). Read this book in a couple of hours and have already started this process. I am so thankful to have found this easy to follow book and be on our way to financial freedom. Thanks Clayton and Natali, as always you lead with knowledge and integrity.

It is very basic and introductory. There are some samples but is not complicates. I read the book in less than 2 hours.It has inspired me to get my mortgage paid off with some really good strategies to do so.

This book tells you to get a HELOC to pay off your mortgage and pay back the HELOC. Pay it back and Do it again, and again and again. don't need to write an entire book to explain this concept

What I like about this book is the straight forward, to the point writing style without all the jargon to fill the pages. The authors get straight to the topic of the book along with explanations and examples to allow the reader to see and gain understanding. I recommend this book to every working class home owner that don't have a clue as to how to cut down their mortgage and/or debt(s) in the quickest possible manner saving much money over time. I rated this book so high due to the visualization and understanding that allows me to see the benefit of these financial strategies. Highly recommended!!!

I like how you followed an example through the whole book. Very good strategies we will be using. When my bank figured the amount I could get a heloc for was different than how you calculated it in the book. Not sure if it was just my bank but, for example 280000 as new appraised amount and they multiplied that by .85 then they subtracted the amount still owed. Thank you for writing this book. In the near future we will be working with provision and their team to set up a wealth strategy and become financially free. Exciting things to come!

An extremely easy read in one sitting. This is because this is a very basic book taking a high level look at high risk alternative methods of paying your house off in an accelerated fashion. The two primary paths offered are using HELOC to jump start your payoff to eliminate your principal home loan, or borrowing from your retirement. The author then uses some examples which are not realistic by most measures. They use for example a household take home income of $10K per month with expenses of $8K with $2k to pay down the loan of $200K on a $300K home. The recommendation is to not pay the house off with $2K per month principle payments in addition to the regular month payment, but to get a HELOC so you will now have 2 lines of debt against your home that you are committed to making payments on. Come up short one month or have an emergency and you are screwed. Further more, if you have a $200K loan at today's rates you have a payment of less than $1K per month, so how the heck does some one have $7K in additional household expenses in their example. A more realistic number would be $3-4K in expenses per month, giving them $3-4K more to pay off their home in 5 years without additional risk incurred. Seriously thinking about returning this book.

I love the information and insight that Clayton and Natali share on their podcast, so I knew this book would deliver value! This book is a quick read full of practical and actionable information. I can't wait to put this strategy to work!
